JOB TITLE: Regional Director
JOB LOCATION: Wheaton, IL
JOB DUTIES: The Regional Director is responsible for the management and development of approximately 20 coaches throughout the summer, and anywhere from 3-10 seasonal trainers, between February 15 and November 15 of each year. During the off-season, the Regional Director works with Senior Vice President overseeing curriculum, to develop innovative new coaching curriculum and must continually educate themselves on the latest advancements in soccer coaching theory. The Regional Director is also in charge of assessment & final approval of the coaches, and training them to ensure that they understand the coaching curriculum and continue to practice The Challenger Way. The Regional Director works with marketing staff to ensure the camps and training sessions are marketed well with targeted advertising and liaises with local press and news organizations to promote programs. The Regional Director meets with Soccer Associations, Parks & Recreation Departments, YMCAs and other organizations to provide coaching and organizational development with volunteer parents and trained professionals. The Regional Director is responsible for specific recruitment, training and guiding of leaders and volunteers within the organizations with which they work. The Regional Director also assists soccer organizations with setting up working committees and fundraising efforts. As an expert in coaching soccer within the community, the Regional Director represents youth organizations at area meetings and helps to interpret policies and procedures. The Regional Director is responsible for record keeping and assessment of yearly goals, and ensures maximum use of petitioner’s financial and other resources. Travel up to 10% of the time to neighboring states
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports & Exercise Science, Sports Management or related field, and a soccer (European Football) coaching license or certificate.
